Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Markdown Master is a native Mac application that opens and edits Markdown files stored on your device. This policy explains what data the app handles — which is, by design, as little as possible.

What data we collect

None. Markdown Master does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

Your files

Markdown Master reads and writes Markdown files on your Mac. Files are accessed only with your explicit permission (via the standard macOS file open dialog or by dropping a file onto the app). File contents never leave your device.

Snapshot history

The app saves automatic snapshots of files you open. These snapshots are stored locally in your Mac's Application Support directory. They are never uploaded, synced, or shared. You can delete them at any time by removing the Markdown Master folder from ~/Library/Application Support/.

No analytics or tracking

Markdown Master contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that transmits data, no advertising framework, and no telemetry of any kind. There are no third-party SDKs in the app.

No account required

There is no sign-up, no login, and no user account. The app works entirely offline.

Mac App Store

Markdown Master is distributed via the Mac App Store. Apple may collect certain information as part of the standard App Store experience (purchases, crash reports shared with developers via Xcode Organizer). This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.

Children

Markdown Master does not collect any data from anyone — including children. There are no age restrictions on use.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here. Given that the app collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
